Hansen Completes J-term at Audubon Center Posted on February 1st, 2011 by

Sophomore Environmental Studies major and ES program assistant Ashley Hansen received a scholarship to participate in a class entitled “Wolves and Other Large Predators: A Northwoods Experience” at the Audubon Center of the North Woods.

Highlights Included:

* Visiting with Dave Mech, Peggy Callahan, Lynn Rogers, Paul Schurke & Craig Blacklock
* Finding Wolf and Lynx Kill Sites
* Radio Aerial Telemetry Flights where students observed wolves, deer and moose
* Skiing, Snowshoeing and Tracking
* Exploring the Wildlife Science Center, Wildcat Sanctuary, International Wolf Center, North American Bear Center, Wintergreen Dogsledding, BWCA (night hike), Minneosota’s North Shore, Superior National Forest, Sandstone National Wildlife Refuge, Banning State Park, Jay Cooke State Park and the Audubon Center property
* Enjoying a diverse mix of 27 Students from 11 Colleges and Universities
